  1. Main Line of research: Characterization of neurological and brain alterations in patients with liver disease. Mechanisms: role of changes in inflammation, immune system, microbiota and extracellular vesicles. Diagnostic and therapeutic implications.
  2. Research lines in liver cirrhosis: Characterization of cognitive, functional and cerebral alterations in patients with minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE)
  3. Characterization of immunological, inflammatory, and neuroinflammatory changes associated with the onset of MHE.
  4. Identification of biomarkers for the early detection of mild cognitive impairment in MHE.
