Líneas de investigación

  1. The group is currently conducting active basic research on two rare respiratory diseases (RRDs); Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) and primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD)
  2. -To characterize the molecular mechanisms (especially those aspects related to REDOX regulation) involved in the development of disease in AATD and PCD
  3. -To evaluate the diagnostic and/or prognostic value of circulating nucleic acids in plasma/serum
  4. -Development of cellular models from cells of patients with RRD, which allow research in these diseases
  5. -To develop new therapeutic strategies based on gene therapy
  6. -To generate social awareness of RRD, through the scientific dissemination of biomedical advances and social and health policies aimed at improving the quality of life of patients
